GSF is born from the idea that another geology is possible.
A geology aiming to analyse and solve the problems related to the interaction among humanity, environment and biosphere. A geology claiming as primary objective the settlement among the full and rational use of natural resources, their conservation and the respect of the people. A geology which is not a tool used by the prevailing consumer model of our society, but which promotes environment equilibrium and equality between the peoples.

The landslide hazard, together with earthquakes hazard, is the biggest socio-economic problem for the Andean communities.
In the Andean countries the number of victims per year caused by landslides is around 735, while for other nations, where landslides are even more frequent, is strongly smaller (i.e. 150 in China, 130 in Japan, 60 in Italy and 50 in the U.S; data source CNR / GNDT).

A water tank in Tumbatu Island (Tanzania) ! Print E-mail
The project: water supply in the primary and secondary school of the Jongowe village (Tumbatu Island, Tanzania).
Recipients of funds: 625 primary and 264 secondary school students, the professors and the rest of the human resources.
