The non-profit organization Geologia Senza Frontiere is born in October 2003 founded by a young group of geologists with the purpose of conferring a common perspective to the competences gained in the professional, research and cooperation activities.

The input to attempt this initiative came from the necessity of a structure that deals with problems of geological domain using a methodological approach based on ethical principles rather than on profit strategies. This is the common base of GSF summarized in the statute and in the charter of principles. The original group has expanded and the current working team is supplemented by some naturalists. The different experiences of the members have allowed GSF to carry on a wide range of projects and activities, collaborating also usefully with reality working in other sectors.
GSF aims to support especially the cases where the possibilities of harmonized development with the Earth are systematically “forgotten”. In this way it wants also to become an information forum about environment and territorial topics trying to provide a point of view as most multifaceted as possible.
GFS believes that a holistic and systemic approach is essential to deal with the knowledge (logos) of the Earth (geo) and the problems afflicting the System in which we live.
