Technical Support Print E-mail
Gerini - Roma
In July 2008 GSF was contacted by the committee that is fighting to prevent the "Gerini" be demolished and replaced with shopping malls. The property, located on Tiburtina at Rebibbia, houses a theater, spacious and functional, laboratories, classrooms and soccer fields. It was requested GSF collaboration to identify aspects of our expertise that could support their initiative. Some members of the GSF, therefore, made a visit and met with the occupants, from which they received an overview of the issue. GSF has acceded to their mobilization through a press release that was sent to institutional of Roma. Subsequently, they have been thorough geological aspects of the area, and was drafted a technical report, delivered to the applicant who is following the dispute, which emphasizes the interaction of structure with the nearby river and the park Aniene that develops along its banks and the importance of avoiding an additional waste of natural resources. Are arguments that can not sustain themselves in the project location to which the property has allocated the structure, but we hope they are still a valuable contribution. Centrale Turbogas di Aprilia
During the spring of 2008, some members of the opposition movement to the construction of a gas turbine engines for Aprilia invited GSF to participate in initiatives and provide technical support on the environmental impact study that Sorgenia SpA submitted to the Ministry of Environment. The realization of the power lead to the inevitable problems and air quality on this item are based the main concerns of the citizens. However, the hydrogeological conditions of the area between the Alban Hills and the Plains Pontina are quite critical and modest consumption of water of the central (8 l/s provided in the project) would be a further contribution to the depletion of water resources' area. Moreover, from published studies, suggest that the lowering of groundwater in the area of Colli Albani is put in relation with the risk of transmission of natural gas (NGH) potentially harmful to human health. These arguments, although not a priority, can not be ignored in the drafting of an environmental impact study. We hope, therefore, that the information gathered may contribute to a project to convert the renewable technologies, like citizenship requests.
